The Showalter Ontario moose hunting tradition began back in the early 1960’s with Ralph and Edwin Showalter. Each fall these two professional pilots, guides and hunters would take clients deep into the Canadian wilderness and harvest quality Bull moose. After 50 years the memories of many of these hunts remain in discussions around the mid-west.

In 1978 Ralph retired from aviation and Edwin took his son Eddie into the woods for the first time and harvested his first Bull a 63-inch monster. From this time forward Eddie has both flown and guided successful hunters to 100’s of great animals.

Although the harvest of an animal is very important this great hunt also is about learning the area, relaxing with the superb fishing, and viewing fantastic scenery.

With a success rate of 60-70% Showalter’s is the place for the serious moose hunter and fisherman. The hunt takes place during the last two weeks of September and first week of October. This is typically the peak of the “rut” and can produce some very intense calling experiences.
